RG Huston acted as the general contractor for this State of Wisconsin Department of Administration contract for the complete reconstruction of the UW Madison Near-West Playfields. Our contract totaled over $ 3.9 million dollars.
Project Description
This project involved re-grading the existing playfields, installing an extensive under drain system, and constructing a specialty stone storage layer. Everything was finished off with an artificial turf striped for several different types of playfields. We moved over 33,000 cubic yards of material, placed over 25,000 tons of aggregates, and installed over 11,000 lineal feet of drainage pipe. This project involved the implementation of specialty stone gradation and had very tight grading tolerances for the base course.
